US Consumers May Need to Register their Drones
The US government is hoping to impose regulations requiring US Citizens to register their drones before the Christmas season arrives.
The new regulations are an attempt to prevent drones from colliding with other flying aircraft. When the regulations are implemented US Citizens will be required to register their drones (Quadcopters) with the Department of Transportation (DOT).
Right now we do not have a lot of information on the details of the registration. The announcement is expected to come this Monday, October 19th so be sure to keep an eye out for the details.
We all know drones are a wonderful thing, and many people are against regulation because they do not like being told what they can or cannot do by a government, but we want all the users out there to be safe, happy and legal with their new drones. The end goal of this regulation is just to put liability on the reckless users.
This is a good thing for the users who follow proper safety guide lines as it can take the responsibility off of the whole and apply it to just those who are careless and reckless with their drones.
What do you all think of this new regulation?
Do you think what they are asking for is reasonable?
Do you think other countries should adopt similar requirements?
We would love to hear what you think!
