This is something right out of your favorite Sci-Fi movie and I personally cannot wait to get my hands on one!

Watch below for a demonstration of a FPV drone racing drone flying a simple track. This just screams out to my inner child. It is like a safe, cheapER form of car racing but with 3 dimensions to worry about.

Some of the first models out there for this are the Walkera Runner 250 and Runner 250 Advanced and they look like a lot of fun. With supplied FPV drone goggles and twin stick controls it takes video games out of the TV and puts you in real life control of your own miniature speeder! I expect to see this expand a lot in the coming months and years with leagues already forming out there such as MultiGP and the awesome new products coming out like the Tilt Racing Drone this is going to prove to be an exciting new sport that I cannot wait to watch and take part in when I have the free time.

The Tilt racing drone brings some interesting new design choices to the table. As proof by Tilt’s video racing it against a Lamborghini it should prove to make quite an impact. Boasting a top speed of over 110 km/h and a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.7 seconds this is not your normal consumer drone. We are already seeing drones more and more being geared towards speed and agility. As a big fan of sporting and competition I welcome this new past time. Through out history competition has brought out the best in man and pushed progress ahead every day. If this activity continues down its current path I predict we will see a constant march of progress towards faster and more agile drones.
