Introducing Axis Vidius: The World’s Smallest Drone With a Camera
New drones come out every day and its impossible to look at all of them, so what makes the Axis Vidius so special and why does it get the attention?
Axis Vidius deserves the attention because it is currently the smallest drone in the world (at least that we the public can purchase and know about) equipped with a camera. The Axis Vidius is 1.5″ x 1.5″ (about 3.8cm x 3.8cm) weighs under 0.55lbs (250 grams) and comes equipped with live streaming and video recording.
The Axis Vidius has a flight time of between five and seven minutes off of a 20 minute USB charge. The video stream can be transmitted by WiFi and, while it can be controlled from a smart phone, also comes with 2.4GHz wireless for piloting the mini drone. The video may not be 4k or even 1080p (the little guy only puts out 480p) but it DOES come LED lights for night time flying and 6-axis gyro stabilization allowing it to do 360 degree flips and rolls while streaming.
The unit is available for pre-order direct from manufacturer for just $75 until January 7th and is expected to ship on January 29th.
