CEI’s New Report Keeping the Skies Open for Drones
Competitive Enterprise institute released a new report called Keeping the Skies Open for Drones. Keep reading to get a summary of what was discussed.
In the report CEI speaks about laws and regulations surrounding the use of UAV’s in today’s world. According to CEI’s Marc Scribner “Drone technology is poised to transform the way we live and work, offering great potential for precision agriculture, aerial surveying and photography, infrastructure inspection, disaster response, parcel delivery, and many other applications, the biggest risks with respect to drones are well-meaning but overzealous policy makers eager to legislate or regulate restrictions on future UAS applications.”
Scribner also said “Existing law and the private sector can adapt well to this new technology, without the need for stifling new regulation.”
According to forecasts in the report the UAV market is expected to grow substantially between now and 2025. By the end of 2025 the total nationwide economic benefit, if the forecasts are accurate, will be $82.1 billion.
