A couple of the questions we receive a lot are about drone safety, “Are drone’s safe?” and “Can drones kill people?”

Before we give our answers to these questions, let’s see what others think about drone safety. Check out this short segment from Myth Busters that addresses these questions.

Okay, so if you just watched the video. You now know, the answer is YES! A drone could kill you! But, that is likely to be at the same probability that a toaster could kill you, or a shower curtain could kill you. It just isn’t really that likely. I mean, they even had to bring out Duncan, an expert multi-rotor pilot to gracefully and slowly edge the drone into the neck rig. This is NOT how a drone-human collision is going to naturally occur. I mean, seriously think about it for a second. Are you just going to stand there while a drone edges its sharp carbon blades close enough to slice your neck open? I don’t think so, you are going to duck, or at least put your hands up. This test only works on a DUMMY… literally.

So, although Myth Busters says that it is “plausible” that drones are a safety treat, we say, DRONE ON! We strongly feel that commercial drones could only be a real threat to idiots, morons and jackasses.
